VS Reports
The Connect System was the retailers principal point of sale financial quotation
system and was connected using both internet and VPNs using web service and direct
RAS connections for over 1000 distributed systems.
Bentley Wholesale Finance System
Microsoft Visual Basic 6, Oracle 10g, Crystal Reports
The wholesale financing for Bentley retailers was
managed and controlled through this system which generated BACS transaction reports.

This short 3 week contract was to renovate and re-code
an existing on-line foreign exchange web site into a faster and more manageable
system. The site was used by the BNP Paribas bank in London and was accessed throughout
the world by BNP staff and associates. Because of this, security was of very high
importance, with our brief being to improve this side of the system. We managed
to increases the speed of the site significantly whilst reducing the overall size
of code to around a fifth of the original size.

Volvo Contracts
Global Contract System

Working as part of larger team to create a global
system to manage the finance and contract side of the Volvo Truck, Marine and Aviation
business. The project is implemented using a multi-tier client-server design, using
Microsoft Transaction Server to provide a middle layer between Oracle8i and Visual
Basic components. The system is fully component and object modeled, using tools
such as Rational Rose and Visual Modeler. The system comprises of a full Meta-Data
implementation to allow easy customisation of the Business Layer without re-coding,
with the data-layer created using ActiveX dll's running within a Microsoft Transaction
Server environment.
The system will Provide Volvo with a global contract
and finance management system, allowing the consolidation of business processes
throughout the Volvo enterprise.

Contract Quotation System
VB 5, Object Oriented development, RDO, DAO,
Crystal Reports
The Contract Quotation system was the principal
finance quotation tool developed for Volvo Contract Finance sales people. It ran
on a Toshiba Libretto sub-notebook for use out in the field as well as on PCs back
at the dealerships and head-office. The system was developed for international
use and included resource files for language independence and triangulation of currency
conversion for the euro. We provided the technical lead for development of
this system. The system was delivered in 5 months and rolled out to 500 users.
Stock Planning System
Client server VB 4 to AS400 using Client Access middleware
and Synon 4GL procedures.
The Stockplan system managed the vehicle stock for
Volvo. The project had been used as an in-house training project, and had
failed to deliver. We provided development expertise and after a 2 month extension
delivered the project and deployed on the head office network
